Positions Available

Junior School Teacher Librarian 

0.6 FTE Permanent Teacher 2020

In this role you will support and implement the vision of the college communities through advocating and building effective library and information services and programs. The key duties of the teacher librarian are learning and teaching, management, leadership as well as collaboration and community engagement.

To be successful in this role you will bring the following:

  • Formal qualifications in education, and librarianship which allow for eligibility for Associate (i.e. professional) membership of Australian Library and Information Association [ALIA] and the same level of education as classroom teachers.
  • Must be willing to support the Christian ethos of the College.
  • Knowledge of library management system – Oliver / Olly.
  • Experience / knowledge of library learning spaces.
  • Provide activities with a focus on literature and reading promotion, literacy, digital and information literacy, inquiry‐based learning, information and communication technology (ICT) integration and resourcing the curriculum.
  • Responsible for the school’s physical and digital learning space where reading, inquiry, research, thinking, imagination and creativity are central to learning and teaching.

Director Early Learning Centre 

Woodcroft College is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified Director for our new Early Learning Centre, scheduled to open July 2020. 

In this role you will lead the establishment of the new Woodcroft Early Learning Centre and be instrumental in developing and nurturing a positive culture. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the educational outcomes and operations of the Early Learning Centre. 

Working with the Head of College and Head of Junior School you will be responsible for the pastoral care, administration and development of curriculum in the Early Learning Centre and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation whilst providing high quality care and education. Bringing a sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and possessing qualifications, skills and experience appropriate to this position.

You will bring:

  • Outstanding knowledge of and proven skills in contemporary Early Childhood curriculum development, pastoral care and ELC operations.
  • A strong understanding of current Early Childhood educational practices and policies.
  • A proven ability to coordinate the operation of the Centre ensuring all relevant statutory requirements are fulfilled.
  • A demonstrated successful history in leading staff and ensuring accountability for the administration of the Centre.
  • Experience in leading the operations of the centre, guiding the strategic direction and day to day problem solving.
  • Well developed, contemporary liaison skills and the ability to support and mentor team members to ensure success.
  • Build strong professional relationships with all stakeholders including families, team members and staff across the broader Woodcroft community.
  • Support continuous improvement and best practice in the ELC.
  • Academic qualifications in Early Childhood and in keeping with the level of responsibility are essential.
  • Appropriate Teaching qualifications from a tertiary institution recognised by the South Australian Teachers Registration Board.
