On Thursday we started at the National Arboretum where we learned about sustainability and enjoyed the botanically designed playground. Then we headed to the CSIRO discovery to inquire into current research that benefits both Australians and other global citizens.
The students were delighted to be reunited with some technology as they used iPads to explore the centre and answers questions. Congratulations to Team Aeroguard (Stas & Fraser) who won the most points.
We then headed to the war memorial along ANZAC Parade. The students showed great respect as they learned about the history of Australia’s involvement in various wars and how technology has changed in relation to that. Many students searched for relatives or friends who are remembered on the ‘Roll of Honour’.
Our final activity of the day was a night visit to Mt Stromlow Observatory where we used telescopes to look at the stars as well as Jupiter and Saturn.
